A lookback at FARETE 2024 NewSkin Showcase: Accelerating Nano-Surface, Nano-Coating and Membrane Innovations

The NewSkin Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) team were at FARETE 2024 in Bologna, Italy, to partake in a showcase of production excellence and services and to develop business opportunities. During the fair, the Confindustria Emilia Area Centro (CONFI) team helped participants to discover H2020 EU-funded NewSkinOITB facilities and services to accelerate novel nano-surface, nano-coating and membrane technology to market and to set up new partnerships with the NewSkin AISBL (the single-entry point to gain easy access to the wide range of NewSkin OITB facilities and services access).   By providing access to cutting-edge technologies and comprehensive support services, NewSkin OITB is set to play a crucial role in advancing Europe's knowledge of nano-surface, nano-coating and membrane technologies for the green and industrial transition.

As part of EU-funded access infrastructure, NewSkin and other Open Innovation Test Beds offer characterisation, upscaling, testing and route-to-market physical facilities, services and expertise at fair prices - reducing costs, investment risks and the time to market for nano-enriched materials for industry, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups – helping to accelerate nanotechnology and advanced materials, stimulating collaboration and contributing to the creation and growth of a more open and connected innovation ecosystem across Europe.
