On 4 and 5 September 2024, the NewSkin Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) team will be at FARETE in Bologna, Italy, to partake in a showcase of production excellence and services and to develop business opportunities. During the fair, the Confindustria Emilia Area Centro (CONFI) team will be on hand to help participants discover H2020 EU-funded NewSkinOITB facilities and services to accelerate novel nano-surface, nano-coating and membrane technology to market. 

Organised by Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, FARETE is renowned for gathering industry leaders and facilitating valuable business interactions. This annual Italian fair brings together large enterprises and SMEs from Emilia, an Italian region that includes the provinces of Bologna, Modena and Ferrara and represents the second manufacturing hub in the country, as well as other participants from other parts of Italy and abroad. Furthermore, FARETE 2024 will host the International Club – a dedicated area with dozens of buyers from Europe and the world interested in investing in innovative Italian companies (link here). Finally, FARETE attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops focused on sustainability in the open hub area and tax and legal issues in the Tax & Global Services spot.

Such an initiative will be the ideal forum to connect with the innovation ecosystems and set up new partnerships with the NewSkin AISBL (the single-entry point to gain easy access to the wide range of NewSkin OITB facilities and services access). At FARETE 2024, NewSkin OITB will be represented by CONFI, leader on the NewSkin Open Calls execution (WP6). CONFI will leverage its competitive manufacturing membership in attendance at FARETE to engage with potential NewSkin OITB clients and innovation ecosystem actors by presenting the range of services provided by the NewSkin OITB facilities.
