NewSkin OITB final events series 2024 – EDS pumps webinar
Published on 14 Nov 14:30 (about 1 month ago) by AquaTTNewSkin final events series 2024 – EDS NewSkin OITB webinar: Advanced materials, coatings and textures for efficient pumping systems
16:00 - 17:50 CET Tuesday November 19th 2024
Hosted by the European Desalination Society in association with NewSkin OITB partners

Summary: Advanced surfaces and materials enable design of enhanced components for more efficient pumping systems. Textures and coatings result in friction lose reductions – up to 60% in dynamic components (pistons, shaft and bearings) and seals. Other functional surfaces, such as shark skin, result in reduced transport losses of fluids (15%), cavitation avoidance and pumping systems efficiency increases (up to 5%). Finally, graphene enabled oils have demonstrated improved pumping systems efficiency over 20%. All these technologies are available through NewSkin OITB.
