The water sector, is a key area where NewSkin OITB facilities can help provide advanced surface technology solutions. Technologies concerned include functionalised surfaces for: membrane filtration, pumps, graphene-based membranes, anti-corrosion, anti-biofouling, maritime transport, aquaculture and desalination equipment. The team having been working hard to promote the uptake of NewSkin OITB facilities, services, and some resulting technologies in the water sector.  2024 has been a busy year in this respect, herein we propose a brief summary.
The year started with the participation of NewSkin partners Aquanova (ex-DREAM) and AquaTT as exhibitors in the Innovation Village proposed by the French Water Clusters during the Local Water Management Crossroads 2024 in Rennes (France) on the 31st of January and the 1st of February 2024. This fair brings together about 16,000 participants and 600 exhibitors. This was the occasion to meet innovative structures of the French water ecosystem and to make some interesting contacts. NewSkin was presented on stage during the first day's networking cocktail session in the Village.

The second, but not the least, appointment in the NewSkin Water 2024 calendar was the NewSkin Water Days in March in Orléans. This 2-day hybrid event on nano-surface, nano-coating, and membrane technologies to solve challenges in water related domains, was held in the run up to world water day (22 March). It brought the NewSkin OITB water innovation ecosystem together creating a rich blend of technical knowledge exchange, discussion and networking over 4 sessions. For the highlights read here.
A third event will take place from the 23rd to the 26th of September 2024. Aquanova will participate in the European Water Technology Week in Leeuwarden (Netherlands). Organised by WaterCampus Leeuwarden, this fair serves as a central meeting point for the water technology sector and aims to expand its influence throughout Europe and the world. By fostering collaboration between companies, knowledge institutions and governments, WaterCampus promotes innovation, education and entrepreneurship in the water technology sector and enhances Europe's global position. With its unique research infrastructure and as a meeting point for European scientists and companies, WaterCampus catalyses international cooperation to address global water challenges and generate solutions through knowledge, talent and entrepreneurship. Don't hesitate to register for this event and join us!
