The European Cluster of Ceramics is pleased to welcome you to its first « NewSkin Info Day » that will be held on the 21st of June from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm CET. This webinar is part of the NewSkin project and will focus on surface treatment and functionalization.

During this half-day program, you will have the opportunity to discover the NewSkin project that is part of the European Horizon 2020 programme.

This meeting will let you attend to talks given by speakers from European research and technology organisations and discuss with them on the following topics :

- Welcome of participants and speakers | Dylan JOUGLARD, European Cluster of Ceramics
- Presentation of the NewSkin project | Carlos del Castillo, ECCS
- High power impulse magnetron sputtering: a flexible tool for synthesis of high-performance surfaces | Tomas Kubart, Solid State Electronics, Uppsala University
- Graphene and practical applications for anticorrosion | Charlotte Gallois, Carbon Waters
- Thin film technologies for improved surface properties in dynamic environments | Santiago Domínguez, TECNALIA
- Laser texturing and additive manufacturing for tailored optical properties of surfaces | Francisco Gontad, AIMEN
- Laser micro and nano-structuring of surfaces in ceramics and other materials | Ronan McCann , Dublin City University
- NewSkin Platform : accelerating the industrial uptake of advanced surface nano-technologies | Romain Hérault, Alpha-RLH

You will also have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the next steps of the project, in particular about the open calls planed for October 2021. These open calls, are intended for any entity, although it is expected that SME´s will be the main beneficiaries (estimated 80% SME´s granted applicants). SMEs, research labs, and Industry will gain free access to pilot plants for upscaling surface treatment & functionalisation technologies for mass production, life-cycle assessments, testing and validation facilities (including accelerated testing for harsh environments) and route to market services.
