Topics during laser week events included discussions and presentations on latest advances in laser technology with industrial applications, Advanced surface engineering and laser nanopatterning, key principles of laser surface patterning, strategies to obtain functional surfaces, surface effect and finishing based on selected laser source and patterning strategy, surface characterisation, technical demonstrations and visit to facilities (including facilities available through NewSkin OITB Open access testbed), complex designs, surface texturing and deep engraving, the future of ceramic and glass sector, laser microdrilling, wear resistance and sustainability in laser manufacturing processes. In addition to the AIMEN team, International Laser Week 2023, involved colleagues from Photon Hub Europe (One-Stop-Shop Open Access to Photonics Innovation Support for a Digital Europe).
