NewSkin participation in Future of Desalination conference
Published on 05 Jan 22:27 (almost 2 years ago) by AquaTTNewSkin water technologies team participated in the Future of Desalination conference. The conference was organised by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) of Saudi Arabia and Global Water Intelligence (GWI), in Riyadh. The event attracted policymakers, developers, consultants, manufacturers, operators and researchers to discuss the future of desalination globally. The NewSkin OITB team were available to introduce our open access facilities available to use through the EU #H2020 funded NewSkin Open Innovation Test Bed (#OITB). Sharing how we’re supporting startups SMEs Research Labs and industry in scaling up their innovations, accelerated testing, and technology adoption.

NewSkin water related technologies include:
- Nanocarbon media for membranes (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft) and nano-particles media on different substrates (Leitat Technological Center)
- Testing membranes with realistic wastewater streams (Technion - Israel Institute of Technology)
- Improving anti-fouling properties in both membranes and pumps (by means of texturing (AIMEN Centro Tecnológico and Dublin City University) and coating (Leitat Technological Center))
- Pumps – upscaling and testing nano-coatings and nano-surface technologies which can help fight corrosion, erosion, cavitation and mechanical damage, reducing wear to pumps’ pistons, propellers, cylinders, seals and other. (Closed cavitation test loop for centrifugal pumps (Dublin City University))
- Improving corrosion resistance and advanced coating and textures to prevent scaling (by means of texturing (AIMEN Centro Tecnológico and Dublin City University) and coating (Leitat Technological Center))
Please contact any of the NewSkin OITB team info@NewSkin-OITB.eu, to organise a meeting to discuss the NewSkin services relevant to you, how they can be tailored to your needs, and how to apply for free open access (final call - Open Call 4 now open (closes 23 June 2023)).
